Michael C. (Mike) Sevcik:  

Military COLONEL MICHAEL C. SEVCIK Colonel Sevcik enlisted in the Army in 1975 and was commissioned as a Transportation Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School in 1977. Following graduation from Transportation Officer Basic Course, he served as a motor officer and light truck platoon leader in Company B, 1st Supply and Transportation Battalion, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. He next served as the Support Platoon Leader in the 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, also at Fort Riley, Kansas. In 1981, Colonel Sevcik attended the United States Army rotary-wing qualification course at Fort Rucker, Alabama, and the Maintenance Test Pilot course at Fort Eustis, Virginia, and was assigned to the 3d Armored Division at Hanau, Germany, where he served three years as an Attack Platoon Leader, Aircraft Maintenance Officer, and Production Control Officer in the 503d Combat Aviation Battalion. Following completion of the Aviation Officer Advanced Course, Colonel Sevcik served as Company Commander, Company C, 1st Battalion, 222d Aviation Regiment and as the S4 Logistics Officer for the 8th Transportation Brigade at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Colonel Sevcik returned to Fort Riley in 1989 to command Company F, 1st Aviation Regiment (AVIM). Subsequently assigned as the Executive Officer of the 101st Support Battalion, Colonel Sevcik deployed with the 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) to Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After completing the Materiel Acquisition Management Course, Colonel Sevcik was assigned to the Operational Test and Evaluation Command in Alexandria, Virginia as an evaluator for the MH-60K and MH-47E, an all aviation logistics programs.
